It’s out! It’s finished!!!

Uncommon Time is an RPG I’ve been working on since the end of 2013 about a group of young musicians (four strings players and a vocalist) who are on a Quest.

Eighteen-year-old cellist Alto Cantabile is heir to an ancient legacy, and in order to fulfill her duty, she brings her skeptical best friend, violinist Teagan Almace, along with her to the far northern country of Harmonia. Alto must gather three other players to form a quintet, and find the sheet music she needs for a very special performance.

This project is very important to me, and I’m excited (and nervous) to finally get to share it in full! Thank you to my testers and everyone else who helped me get this far!

You may enjoy Uncommon Time if you like:

  • music
  • worldbuilding
  • women being awesome
  • queer themes (sexuality, gender, and presentation)
  • silly party banter
  • interpersonal drama and other serious themes

Uncommon Time is a lengthy game (estimated play time 15-25 hours!) with multiple endings. It is recommended for ages 15 and up, and features disturbing/violent imagery and mild sexual content. There’s a detailed list of content warnings that you can find on the official webpage, but since some of the warnings are spoilers, please only check it if you know there’s content you need to avoid to stay safe. This game has also got a lot of flashy and screen-shaking animations, so if you have an illness or disability that does not do well with those, you may not want to play it.

If you have save data from the demo version of the game, you can continue from it, but I’ve made some small graphical changes since the last demo (v0.15) so you may want to start over from the beginning.

Uncommon Time does not work on Mac or Linux and needs the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP to be installed to run properly. PLEASE check the readme file before running the game for the first time.

You can see more screenshots and get a download link here from the game’s homepage! also let me know if you enjoyed it/are doing a liveblog or anything because this stuff keeps me motivated ok. Thanks for reading!!
